Hewn Coffee Table

This split top coffee table is made in English oak, the two halves are held together on a sliding dovetail rail. Stubby tapered legs are splayed at an angle to give it a stable feel. The top is flattened by hand with a roughing plane which gives a really nice texture that catches the light and leaves you wanting to run your hand over it.

This example is in fumed oak with a medium sheen.
